Yes, you can enjoy the pop-up explanations of the AMBOSS add-on in AnkiMobile on iOS and in AnkiDroid on Android. Features that connect Anki and the AMBOSS Qbank are only available on desktop so far. To enable mobile support:

  1. Install both the Anki desktop app with the AMBOSS add-on and the AnkiMobile (iOS) or AnkiDroid (Android) app.
  2. Create a free AnkiWeb account if you don’t have one.
  3. In the Anki desktop app, go to "Anki" → "Preferences" → "Syncing" and log in with your AnkiWeb credentials.
  4. Log into the same AnkiWeb account on your mobile app.
  5. In the Anki desktop app, go to "AMBOSS" → "Settings", check "Enable mobile support", and click "Save".
  6. Sync your Anki desktop app with AnkiWeb.
  7. Sync your mobile app with AnkiWeb.

The AMBOSS add-on is compatible with all standard Anki versions starting from 2.1.35. Ensure you have this version or later installed. For full functionality, Qt6 Anki builds are required. Download the latest version here.

How can I find matching AnKing flashcards for my AMBOSS Qbank questions?

To find relevant AnKing flashcards while reviewing AMBOSS Qbank questions:


  1. Click the “Get Anki cards” button from any AMBOSS Qbank question to see recommended AnKing flashcards.
  2. Select the flashcards you want to review by checking the boxes.
  3. Click the “Copy Anki query” button.
  4. Paste the query into the search bar of Anki’s “Browse” window and press Enter.
