First of all I love how I can have access to information to one disease in a single page. I love the adjustability of the question bank and the amount of questions. I also love the incorporation of ANKI into the system which makes it easy to connect what I studied on ANKI to the questions on AMBOSS.
As a first year medical student, all medical terms are very new to me and hence I need to constantly reference back to google to look up medical terminologies. With the help of AMBOSS, I can use that as my medical google and it provides me with all the information I need on a particular disease. I also love how after reading a particular pathology I can quiz myself by doing specific practice questions from that particular topic. By far my most favorite feature and something my other friends love as well is the ANKI Add on, game changing!
Amboss is invaluable to those who use Anki - allowing you to efficiently review large decks in a fraction of the time. The question banks make studying for school exams a breeze and are essential to solidify concepts from Anki.
I used AMBOSS starting first year. It was not as good for anatomy at that time however recently I have seen the anatomy feature parallels complete anatomy. I would use it during preclinical to look up every topic taught in lecture and be able to read more about it and also do practice questions specifically for that topic. It also served as a medical search engine to look up and learn more about any weak topic I had. During my clinical years I am again using it to look up anything during the day or from rounds that I am confused on. In addition I can practice more with the questions. Additionally if there is a topic I keep getting wrong on uworld I look it up and do more practice questions to solidify the concept. I am also planning on using AMBOSS for longitudinal review for step2. I am using uworld for questions on the specific rotation I am on and then adding a few questions from AMBOSS daily from all of the rotations I have completed on random so that I have constant review of old subjects.
AMBOSS has been invaluable in both my preclinical studies and during clinical rotations. The concise yet detailed articles helped me quickly clarify concepts while preparing for exams and treating patients. During rotations, its evidence-based guidance gave me confidence in making clinical decisions and reinforced what I was learning on the wards. The integration with Anki was also a game-changer, helping me retain key information and improve my Q-solving strategies. AMBOSS was an essential tool for improving my critical thinking and clinical reasoning, ultimately contributing to better outcomes in both exams and patient care.
I began to use AMBOSS in year 3/5 of medical school primarily for the library. The ease of access to information with the mobile app, layout, labelled images and diagrams led to it practically replacing textbooks for me. The Anki add on seamlessly integrated with my workflow. I used the Q bank in my final year which was integral in improving my critical thinking and test taking skills. AMBOSS was indispensable for me during medical school and I continue to use it as a resource as a clinician.
I have used amboss throughout my entire time in medical school. I have used it as an additional question bank resource and have studied specific topics in the question bank.
AMBOSS has been my go-to resource since I started medical school. During my pre-clinical years, AMBOSS articles concisely explained pathophysiology mechanisms clear and concisely. During my rotations, I was referencing those exact same articles and able to quickly read up on my patient's diagnosis and treatment options as I was walking to the hospital or even going up the elevator to meet my team. I relied on AMBOSS to learn about the treatment plan that I would propose during rounds, and I was able to even use AMBOSS to come up with dosages and time courses for treatments or how to advance a treatment. I've been using AMBOSS questions to study for my shelves, and I find myself coming out of shelf exams calm and collected because AMBOSS prepared me well. The answer explanations are far superior to UWORLD and the NBME questions, and I love how interactive the explanations are such that I can hover over a word and quickly get a definition. I love how AMBOSS will include the relevant article for the answer, and I absolutely love learning from the diagrams and picture explanations.
AMBOSS has been a critical resource during my clinical rotations, enabling me build differentials on the fly and be an asset to my teams. Additionally, the quality of AMBOSS's articles have allowed me to make high-yield teaching/chalk talks for my teams. Additionally, AMBOSS's question bank is incredibly well-designed and a huge factor for my success on NBME shelf exams thus far.
Amboss is both an excellent question bank and a great way to build thought processes in determining differentials both in a test taking and clinical environment. It also integrates seamlessly with Anki which I use daily and is extremely helpful in my workflow.
AMBOSS has been an integral part of my success, both with regards to class and in preparing for STEP/clinicals. The extensive online library allows me to easily and instantly dive deep on whatever topic is provoking doubts where ever I happen to be, and the Anki add-on makes it easy to reinforce knowledge throughout my day-to-day studying routine. Finally, the QBank is an excellent resource for getting a firmer, more dynamic grasp on the topic at hand, offering STEP-style questions with best-in-class integration into Anki.
I love how AMBOSS combines detailed explanations with concise, high-yield information that helps me grasp challenging concepts quickly. As a preclinical second-year medical student, the qbanks have been invaluable for studying and reinforcing topics like pathology and pharmacology. The integration of clinical knowledge has also helped me build a solid foundation for future rotations. AMBOSS has enhanced my learning process, making my study sessions more efficient and focused on understanding the ‘why’ behind each answer.
Amboss was highly useful as a comprehensive resource during my clinical years, as I was building up my clinical knowledge and reviewing for my shelf exams. I felt that it was really useful for reviewing the basic sciences which I had mastered for Step 1, but which I liked to review to help me understand the larger theme of concepts tested on these exams and eventually Step 2 as well. I feel that it was immensely helpful for Step 2 studying, because I was able to make a study schedule inside the app that helped keep me on track and gave me a quick and clear way to assess my weak areas as test day approached.
Though our university offers great third party resources already, AMBOSS has been uniquely helpful when studying with Anki and with more complex questions (also just having more good questions in a bank!). The ability to pull Anki cards relating to current questions in the bank has been great, and filtering by question difficulty throughout the block as our knowledge progresses will be even more helpful when preparing for STEP and during clerkships.
I feel like it has a fantastic question bank that really challenges me. I also love its features available on Anki. I love the feature that allows me to hover over a word and get a quick definition that is a fantastic memory probe while studying other topics. It makes my learning much more effective and efficient. I also love the new feature that allows me to quickly suspend Anki cards related to the questions I am doing. Overall, I feel like my studying is much more effective and efficient due to AMBOSS.
I used Amboss religiously on the wards while on internal medicine rotations. I found it helpful as a quick reference with the most up to date content. I also enjoyed using Amboss to prepare for patient cases and making medical presentations. During USMLE Step 2 & COMLEX Level 2 prep, it quickly became my go-to resource for high yield study material both in the question bank and in the library articles.
I use both the qbank and the knowledge app. The app is great for rotations, it is very straightforward and much easier to understand than UpToDate. I have actually had a couple attendings use mine to reference topics and they seemed to really like it too. The qbank is great, I think it is much better than TrueLearn (what LECOM provides). I think it is better than TrueLearn because many of my TrueLearn questions are just regurgitating memorization topics while AMBOSS questions require actually thinking and understanding of the pathophysiology of topics. This helps me prepare much more for board exams where you can just memorize everything.
I have been an AMBOSS user since my first year of medical school and have found it very helpful for preparing for my medical school's exams, COMLEX, and COMATs. Some helpful features I like on AMBOSS include: display of information, organization of information (e.g., diagnostics, management, differentials etc.), highlight function for HY info, summary tables, images with overlays, practice questions (e.g., can organize by shelf exam, can do questions directly from the article, create your own quiz), explanations to questions, and Anki compatibility. I often use it during clinical rotations to help with treatment plans and creating case presentations. AMBOSS is a one stop shop and has made my life as a student more efficient.
Amboss has a vast range of resources that have been vital to my medical school experience. The practice questions are incredible and allow for progressive learning with hints which UWorld does not have. They have questions for topics based off articles do you can do questions for your specific weaknesses. Then there are articles themselves, every day they update and have more and more articles for topics that are very clear and direct and so helpful for a quick reference for on the go. This has been life changing for clinicals in the hospital! Then there is the integration with Anki which has been so cool and such a great help
Amboss is a sure fire look up and reference tool I use weekly. It provides a slew of info in a short, mobile friendly solution other resources just can’t match. Very useful for the MS3/4 years.
Amboss is not even comparable to any other third-party resource in terms of usefulness, it’s a whole new ball game. Imagine being able to quickly reference UpToDate in an accessible, easy to read format. AMBOSS answers any question I ever have while participating in clinical medicine and ensures that I am working up patients thoroughly, once again in an easy-to-understand manner. There are tons of different images, tables and graphs so that everyone can find a way that makes sense to them to learn. I also love AMBOSS’ question bank – but the questions aren’t what makes this application unique. The explanations, the feasibility to navigate through the system & find information you need and QUICK but always accurate is what makes this application amazing. I only found AMBOSS later into my clinical year and I wish I could go back in time SO badly to utilize it because of the immense help it offers in delivering amazing patient care but also in grasping the medical knowledge itself.
5 minutes: That's all I had to learn about the patient's chief complaint in between the consult page and the elevator to the ED. I needed a resource which provides thorough summaries of a topic while remaining succinct. Amboss does exactly that by presenting highly curated, clinically focused articles complete with diagnostic criteria and management algorithms. In a landscape with outdated textbooks, inconclusive publications, and high-articles locked behind the most absurd paywalls, I could not imagine a better way to learn medicine, impress my preceptors, and provide timely care to my patients.
q-bank, anki integrations, all in one ecosystem...Well organized library of information for reference and contribution to inpatient treatment and management. Including overviews for surgical procedures, flowcharts and guidelines for conditions. Integrated score calculators.
AMBOSS reminds me of Up to Date or StatPEARLS but built toward medical students. Each page is subdivided into appropriate sections (e.g. etiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, etc.), and the information is presented in easy to follow bullet points. Importantly, AMBOSS also includes incredibly helpful labelled diagrams and other memory mnemonics that are absent from more 'traditional' databases. Any time I do pre-work or Anki, I always compare my notes to AMBOSS, as often AMBOSS will cover key details or explain pathophysiology in a clearer, more succinct manner. Additionally, it is very easy to navigate between pages and every medical term is hyperlinked: for instance, in studying Kawasaki's Disease, I needed a refresher on Reye syndrome. By hovering over the term "Reye syndrome" on the page, I was able to get a short overview on Reye syndrome as well as be directed to the Reye Syndrome Page itself. Finally, AMBOSS can come with a question bank that is often very helpful for testing application of knowledge.
AMBOSS helps me prepare for every part of medical school. It helps me connect the basic sciences to their clinical applications. It helps me connect workup and patient management in PBL so that I can understand not only what is done to manage patients, but also what the best flow in management is. The articles help to reinforce and augment the topics I cover in PBL - I always double check the AMBOSS articles that relate to my readings so that I can make sure I am making the cross-textbook connections I should be. They help to connect medicine in a fluid and organic way that discretely packaged textbooks can't deliver. The Q bank is also an excellent resource for practicing my interpretation of board style questions. It links the physical exam curriculum well with detailed basic science questions. The questions are typically more in-depth and less reliant on buzzwords than UWorld and TrueLearn. They provide a way to not only evaluate the weaknesses in my understanding but also the way that they link back to articles and allow me to review my mistakes in greater depth provides a way to reinforce my learning in PBL in a board-centered context.
