I find Amboss to be one of the most well-rounded study resources out there. I can't think of any other resource where you get a database of articles, useful images with overlays and quizzes, a full question bank, premade study plans, and an interface with Anki. And, it doesn't stratify between Step 1 and Step 2 content, so you get access to material for both tests without having to pay extra!

I have found the AMBOSS platform to be an amazing asset for a medical student. I equate it to a Google search for medical school. It has everything one can want and need to know about any medical topic. An extremely extensive library. The interface is very user-friendly. The option to show only high yield information is very helpful allowing you to get a quick glimpse of important information. AMBOSS has been amazingly helpful for learning new terms or reviewing and refreshing on previous learned topics. It is very easy and smooth to switch between different topics. The platform is a great asset for clerkships, including drug information, calculators, flowcharts and guidelines for many different fields. They have a great qbank to help reinforce the material and prepare for in-house and STEP exams. This is an amazing all-in-one package for any med student and clinician. I am so grateful I got it. It has been exactly the thing I have been looking for to help me through the medical journey. THANK YOU!I gained immensely from the AMBOSS platform in preparation for the exam. I felt comfortable throughout the questions on the exam having seen the concepts throughout the practice questions on AMBOSS. Thank you for all the effort put into creating and maintaining an amazing platform!

I was told to get Amboss by my tutor and I've loved it the second I got the unlimited Q bank. From my first month in medical school, I've used Amboss as one of my main study resources. It is my go to use for studying pathology and then using the question bank for that pathology to test my knowledge. The questions are challenging but they teach a lot. It is a wonderful resource that I've recommended to my classmates and to my little and other new medical students.

AMBOSS is a really great study platform. I love the Anki add-on feature because it allows me to easily click on a topic to find out more information and quiz myself on that topic. I also really like the feature that allows me to create questions based on different Anki decks and my mature cards. The overlay feature for images is another great feature because I can quiz myself on anatomy. Another great feature is the breakdown of questions and answers with hyperlinks that can provide all the additional information that I need for a particular topic.

AMBOSS is a very integrated platform that is helpful for 21st century learning! As someone who uses laptop, tablet and smartphone for all sorts of learning, I really value the ease of use across different devices, since not many other apps do the same thing. The UI/UX and ease of access through the libraries helps me use AMBOSS daily and effortlessly in any sort of learning situation, whether it be in classroom, hospital, while walking, or even at home in my bed. It almost acts like my "second brain", because it is so easy to get a refresher on a disease or a medication when I want to quickly recall something.

AMBOSS has been incredibly helpful as I studied through my first year and as I have begun studying in my second year. I find the Anki add-on to be one of the best ways to integrate active studying with my cards and the suggested AMBOSS questions based off mature card topics are fantastic. The summer crash course was also a great refresh and intro for many topics that will be on STEP 1.

Amboss has been a huge help studying for shelf exams over the past year. The amboss qbank has hundreds (sometimes thousands) of questions for each shelf and the study plan mode allows you to create a plan to complete all the questions prior to the exam. The anki add-on is a huger life safer, as you can quickly look up more information in the amboss knowledge bank, take a look at the helpful video or pictorial illustrations, or analyze the work-up of a condition with their many flow diagrams.

I think one of AMBOSS' strongest features is the new anki add-on! It is a great way to integrate the clinical information from AMBOSS articles, directly into rapid review and repetition learning from Anki. With this feature, you can hover over any term within a flashcard and see a concise, comprehensible summary and quick link that provides further information, if you want to learn more. This allowed me to easily consolidate concepts from a variety of disciplines and further solidify my understanding of the material.

AMBOSS is the keystone of my medical knowledge. It is used as a tool to verify medical information and to test my understanding of clinical concepts. The practice questions often require several steps to solve, which was initially daunting, but trained me to more quickly and effectively break down questions for my boards prep and COM exams.

Amboss has truly helped me improve and excel in my pre-clinical courses. I noticed a huge improvement in my confidence and test scores after using the question banks, diagrams, and videos! The platform was easy to understand and I loved using the study plans to prepare for Step 1.

Though some classmates had warned me that AMBOSS is "too advanced" for year one of preclinical sciences, I feel purchasing my subscription was instrumental to my success in medical school thus far. My absolute favorite part about AMBOSS is the management of difficulty levels in the question bank. The hammer system has gave me the opportunity to fine-tune practice questions to align with my lectures and studying and allowed me to create practice quizzes for myself that were relevant to learning objectives from my house lectures. AMBOSS is unique to other resources that I have used for that reason alone. It isn't the only one to allow you to pick from certain disciplines and topics while configuring practice questions, but it is the only one that incorporates question difficulty which I believe is key to maintaining focus and not getting discouraged. Either way, I learn something new! The seamless integration of the knowledge library helps me to review a topic with just a click, and the articles are thorough enough that I usually don't have to refer to my lecture notes or textbooks if I needed a clarification with a question. The AMBOSS library has proven to be an invaluable resource for small group sessions and while using ANKI and it is always open in another window when I am taking notes or completing practice questions from another source. Not only do I appreciate how much the library encompasses, but it also gives me back something incredible - time! I've saved so much time thanks to the AMBOSS library's articles being integrated in everything I use.

AMBOSS was an excellent resource to help me crush STEP 1 and my surgery/neuro shelf exams. The attached library and user-friendly interface greatly streamlined the studying process for me, as I could quickly search up terms I was unfamiliar with or needed a refresher on!

AMBOSS is a great tool to use for board prep and studying. It comes in handy as a reference manual as well for rounds during rotations. The app is compatible for both phones and ipads and super helpful for quick access during rotations.

Our curriculum at our school is very case based and heavily encourages self-directed learning. This means that we are assigned a couple of cases relevant to the topic of the week and we are responsible for thoroughly researching the condition. This includes clinical presentation, etiology, epidemiology, pathophysiology, treatments, prognosis, etc. Other resources such as Uptodate and Dynamed are good, but are quite dense and difficult to grasp. I learned of AMBOSS from a friend and have never since looked back. Its user interface is as easy to use as wikipedia and it has information that is far more reliable. The breakdown of each condition into specific categories (summary, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, etc) keeps the information relevant and well outlined. I also think that the "hover-over" option for certain underlined key terms is quite useful. It's nice to get a brief synopsis of what the term means rather than having to navigate to a whole other page just to get a quick definition.I'm currently still exploring the board prep questions at the moment so I don't have a formed opinion on it yet.

I'm an MD/PhD student returning to 3rd year after finishing my PhD. Because it's been five years since I've seen patients, I wanted a study resource that would help me review preclinical material efficiently while also preparing me for 3rd year. AMBOSS knowledge articles allow me to quickly review physiology or pharmacology more efficiently than I could by reviewing my 1st and 2nd year textbooks. And while doing practice questions for my shelf exams, it points me to articles and materials that would be useful to review. Add to that that the apps are high quality and available offline allowing me to study on the bus to clerkship and the Anki add-on that lets me quickly review study material, you've got an amazing and time-efficient resource. And they let you cite example images and text in your Anki cards or notebooks, so if you need to study a way they haven't developed yet you can use their resources for that. It's an amazing resource, and I think every medical student should get access to it.

Amboss helped not just with practice questions and excellent answers, but the attention to detail with knowledge you will need to know to impress your preceptors on rotations and auditions was 2nd to none. The only resource that has excellent quality in multiple sectors of medical education.

Amboss was the most valuable resource I had during medical school. I started using it during third year, and wish I would have began using it M2 year or even earlier. The combination of the Qbank, Amboss database, and mobile Knowledge App allowed me to excel during my clinical rotations and perform well on my shelf exams. The database and knowledge app provided me with the perfect depth of information when working on assessment and plans for my patients. My attendings were often impressed with my next step suggestions for my patients - a lot of which I determined by following treatment plans directly from the Amboss database. For shelf studying, the Qbank questions are excellent as I could filter by question difficulty, so I started out with easier questions and worked my way up to the harder ones as my exam date drew near. Additionally, I can't emphasize enough how nice it is for Amboss to allow you to choose a different answer if your first choice was wrong, unlike other Qbanks where it immediately gives you the answer, as this allows for a better evaluation of how well you narrowed down answer choices in addition to whether you could initially choose the right answer or not. The answer explanations are comprehensive but not too wordy, and being able to open up the related article to dig further into the issue is a huge benefit as well. Lastly, especially when studying for Step 1, shelf exams, or Step 2, using Anki with the Amboss add-on makes for a very efficient study style as you can hover your mouse over key words to get a better understanding of each concept within a given card, ultimately allowing you to memorize more quickly and gain a deeper understanding of your topics.

I used AMBOSS QBank to study for Step 1 and I highly recommend using the tab function to efficiently review concepts from the ground up. AMBOSS QBank targets the most common subjects that are tested on, and though I experienced a steep learning curve, it was extremely beneficial in building my ability to read questions and pick out the correct answer.

There are many reasons why I love using AMBOSS on a daily basis while on my clinical rotations. The concise articles make it easy for me to brush up on topics during rounds and between cases, which has boosted my confidence. In addition, the question bank has been extremely helpful in clinical knowledge through case-based real life scenarios. The differential diagnosis tools and algorithm has helped me work through complex cases more systematically and helped me prepare for talks and discussions with my residents and attending.

Amboss is a comprehensive place to access information that’s is formatted in an easily accessible way. Other platforms like UpToDate has a lot of information and doesn’t give info to remind you of pathophys. Amboss has all the information from pathophys to management that is easy to navigate and easily explained.

The AMBOSS app was the most useful tool during my last 2 years of medical school. It has a good amount of information in a very accessible and helpful format (follows the logic of information that we seek while on rounds, chart-checking, writing notes, etc). It is nice that I don't always have to know what I am searching, but the way the pages are integrated/linked among others, I can quickly find the term or bullet point I am searching. Diagrams are useful and aesthetically pleasing, so I have shared them with residents numerous times which they appreciate.

I am obsessed with the AMBOSS extension on Anki - it is such a game changer. Even if AMBOSS wasn't a totally external site, I would pay for this extension alone just for Anki. To make things even better, AMBOSS goes above and beyond UWorld and is literally the Bible or Google of medical school. The question bank is just phenomenal too. I can use it through my shelf exams next year and beyond. The app is also super helpful on the go.

AMBOSS has been a terrific resource for me to learn from the questions I get wrong. Whether is is in a question session, using their add-on for Anki, or learning more about a patient presentation that I've seen on my clinical rotations. It is much easier to find what I am looking for than some of the other resources out there and is truly a one-stop shop for all of the medical knowledge I need.

Testing: I think AMBOSS has a phenomenal Qbank. The questions have a wide variety of difficulty, it hits on niche clerkship factoids that appear on SHELF while also testing systemic ideas, and the concise explanations right below each question are amazing and save so much time.Anki: The connection to Anki is super useful for definitions on my cards I need to remember, as well as for linking to the databank to further pursue the idea behind a card. This extends to the ChatGPT function that allows me to really dig in when I don't get a concept or really care to master it.Clinically: The clinician library has saved me on multiple encounters with patients where I needed to learn/know/remember something about a condition to get a good interview and impress my attending - it has never let me down. Also it helps me with modern and updated clinical decision-making when designing a good plan for a patient.

There are countless resources available for medical students, but Amboss stands out as one of my favorites. First, its extensive question bank is incredibly helpful for building and refining my medical knowledge. I also appreciate the study plan feature, which lets me create tailored plans for long-term goals, like preparing for the Step 2 CK exam. But what really sets Amboss apart is that it’s much more than just a question bank. It offers a wealth of reliable articles and in-depth information, making it easy to review topics I find challenging or may have missed in practice.
